Monday Night Birthday Rocks!

By Ian Townsend

Bognor Regis Town face Gosport Borough in the FA Trophy and celebrate their 140th birthday (and they don't look a day over twenty five...)

Bognor Regis Town hope to be back at the seaside this evening, and have a local derby, as Pitching In Southern Premier South leaders Gosport Borough head along the A27/M27. The Rocks saw their good run come to an end last week, with two away defeats, but will be glad to be back on their own patch and might revel in the idea of being underdogs, such has been Borough’s form. That said, Borough’s defeats this season have all been on the road.

The match is subject to a 3.30 PM pitch inspection so we hope that Sussex will remain relatively dry between then and now.

If the match goes ahead it will be rather a special occasion, as today is the day that the club celebrates its one hundred and fortieth birthday. If they've made a cake large enough to accommodate all of those candles, we suspect there will be enough for everyone!

If the match doesn't go ahead tonight, then they are scheduled to try again on Wednesday- just before Storm Ciaran arrives with flooding and ninety mile per hour winds on Thursday.
