Mongoy returns to Sussex by the sea

Jordy Mongoy is new at Hastings United

It seems only a fortnight since we were announcing midfielder Jordy Mongoy as a new signing for Billericay Town- but in fact it was actually four weeks, and after that short time as a Blue he has been announced as a new signing for one of his former clubs, Hastings United.

He has made four appearances for Billericay- his second spell with the club, as he was also there during the 2018-19 campaign, when the Blues were in National League South.

In between his two blue periods, he played for Lewes and Bognor Regis Town. The last of those was on the Sussex coast, and he played for Bognor during the 20-21 and 21-22 seasons, the latter seeing him play thirty one times and score eleven goals. He was with Lewes during 2019-20, making twenty five appearances and scoring four times, and he has also had short Sussex spells with Hastings United and East Grinstead Town, and a brief period with Bishop's Stortford.

Earlier in his career he played youth and first team football with Dagenham and Redbridge, and after he was last part of our league he spent time with Walton Casuals, Hemel Hempstead Town, Wealdstone and Farnborough, before taking his talents up to the north east, where he played for Spennymoor Town and- most recently- South Shields.
