Moore at the Bar

Former Leatherhead boss is the new man in the dugout at Potters Bar Town

Potters Bar Town have announced that their new manager is former Leatherhead boss Sammy Moore.

Sammy, best known as a player for his successful period at AFC Wimbledon, was a youth player at Charlton Athletic and Chelsea before moving to Ipswich Town, where he made his professional debut. He played for Brentford, Stevenage Borough and Dover Athletic before his five years with the Dons, then turned out for Leyton Orient before signing for Leatherhead as Player-Manager.

His success at Fetcham Grove, where he steered them to a famous cup run and missed out on the playoffs on goal difference, saw him snapped up by National League South Concord Rangers. He left Canvey despite steering Rangers to the playoffs, and became manager of Hemel Hempstead Town, leaving at the end of the 2019-20 season.

We last saw him last season, when he signed for Folkestone Invicta as a player. He made five appearances before the campaign crashed to a covid-induced end.
