More Lilywhites

By Ian Townsend

We brought you news of the arrival of Dean Grant, but there were more- many more- for Faversham Town

As well as Dean Grant's arrival from Herne Bay, Faversham Town have also brought in Eddie Allsopp from Barking, Charlie Hatton from Margate, Maliq Morris from Ramsgate and Abdul Saccoh from Cray Wanderers.

Eddie was a surprise, as we only announced his arrival at Barking a fortnight ago and he made only two appearances in blue. He appeared for the Blues previously, on loan from Charlton Athletic, and scored six goals in eleven appearances before injury sent him back to the Valley. He came through the ranks at Phoenix Sports before moving to the Valley on an initial two year deal back in 2018, and was part of the Under 23 squad before leaving the club in the summer.

Charlie was part of Margate's Under 18 side last season, made a handful of appearances from the bench last season and was part of the first team squad in pre-season at Hartsdown Park, whilst midfielder Maliq came through the youth ranks at Dulwich Hamlet- although he did spend some time with Millwall. He didn't get a great deal of first team action at Champion Hill, and last season spent some time in the Pitching In Isthmian South Central, with Westfield, where he managed two appearances before the pandemic got in the way. He played once for the Rams this season.

Full back Abdul joined Cray in the summer, playing in the pre-season victories over AFC Wimbledon and Hashtag United, and in the defeat at Hollands & Blair- where he assisted the goal by boss Danny Kedwell. He played only once, in the FA Cup defeat against Sutton Common Rovers.
