New shirt, new sponsor, new players, new season for Merstham

Sponsorship on the front, charity sponsorship on the back, and a set of new players to wear it

Merstham Football Club has announced a new shirt sponsor for the forthcoming season, as MGS signed on for two years with a package that will include a range of advertising and promotional activities, as well as local community initiatives.

Merstham Chairman, Chris Chapman explained:

“It’s a challenging time to secure new sponsorship as we come out of the pandemic, so we are enormously grateful to Martin and MGS for their support. Working with a local business is always an ideal scenario and we all hope it’s a partnership that flourishes over the next few seasons.”

Martin Parr, Owner of MGS, added:

“I am really happy to be involved with the club and look forward to helping and promoting the club in the best way possible. I would like to express my thanks to Merstham directors, Steve and Joe Weeks for making me feel very involved with the club. Also, a big thanks to my partner Farah, the new Manager at Merstham’s bar, the Venue, for supporting my decision to sponsor the club.

Congratulations to Merstham FC for their continued support of the Lucy Rayner Foundation, as the subject of mental health is very close to my heart. So far, I have seen that Merstham FC is a very close-knit community and very welcoming.”

Merstham have also renewed their partnership with for The Lucy Rayner Foundation, the Redhill-based charity, whose mission is to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of physical and mental ill health in young people. For the last two seasons, the Moatsiders were proud to wear the distinctive Foundation logo on the back of their first-team shirts. They will do so again this season.

Wearing the shirt will be goalkeeper Toby Bull and forward Izzy Bademosi.

Toby comes in on loan from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, and spent time on loan at Worthing last season. He joined the Mackerel Men on an emergency loan and kept a clean sheet in his one appearance, a four-nil win at Kingstonian. Izzy comes in from East Thurrock United, where he scored two goals in eight appearances last season. He was previously with Bedfont Sports, where he scored nine goals during 2019-20, and before heading to the end of the Heathrow runway turned out for Barking, Chipstead, Brentwood Town, Enfield Town and Peacehaven & Telscombe.
