Nugent for Uxbridge

By Ian Townsend

New defender Maurice made his debut in the Cup on Saturday

Uxbridge made a number of changes for their FA Cup match on Saturday- which we covered here- and amongst those coming into the side was defender Maurice Nugent.

Mo played sixty nine minutes of the victory at the Beacon Ground. He came through the youth setup at Galway United in the Republic of Ireland, graduating to the first team and spending seven years with the club in total. His side finished runners up in the First Division last year, falling at the last hurdle in their quest for promotion with a play off deefat.

He moved to London at the start of this year, and has played for our former favourites Hendon, these days in the Pitching In Southern Premier.

There is a fabulous interview with him from earlier this year, which you can read here.
