Cheshunt bring in Golden Boot winner Nnamdi Nwachuku, Andre Godfrinne and Scott Holding

Cheshunt followed their win at Margate on Friday with a trio of signings- and the first one, particularly, made us sit up and take notice.

Nnamdi Nwachuku was an enormous part of AFC Sudbury’s Pitching In Isthmian North promotion last season, and managed an incredible forty three league goals, including an astounding six hat tricks to pick up the golden boot. This wasn't a flash in the pan- the striker has been prolific almost everywhere he has played.

He joined the Yellows from Marlow, where he managed an impressive twenty two goals during the 21-22 season. He also got three goals in three matches for Marlow during the 2019-20 campaign- which he saw dramatically interrupted by injury- but he was similarly prolific for North Division rivals Coggeshall Town.

He managed twenty five goals for the Seed Growers during the 2018-19 campaign, fourteen in fifteen matches during 2019-20, and four in ten during 2020-21. He started this season at Braintree Town.

Andre Godfrinne, another forward, has been turning out for our Pitching In Isthmian Premier champions Bishop's Stortford in National League North, and made his Ambers debut in that win at Hartsdown Park. He joins on a dual registration deal. From Belgium, he played most of his football up until now in the land of his birth, with clubs including Anderlecht and Mechelen at youth and under 19 level, and he also had a youth spell in the Potteries at Stoke City.

Scott Holding, a former Manchester United youth, joins on loan from Watford. Scott was the captain of the Academy side at Stockport County prior to becoming a Hornet in the summer of last year, and has also had loan spells oop north at Ashton United and Stalybridge Celtic. He's a centre half.
