Only three matches- but the top three in action!

By Ian Townsend

We have but a trio of Pitching In Isthmian North matches this weekend, but they take the Trawler Boys, Seasiders and Regent on the road

Leaders Lowestoft Town are in quite superb form. One defeat all season, eight victories in a row- eight matches during which they’ve scored THIRTY THREE goals- it really is no surprise that their form has taken them to a six point lead at the top of the Pitching In Isthmian North table, and they’ll hope to at least maintain that gap as they travel to beautiful Bury St Edmunds to take on tenth place Bury Town.

The hosts find themselves eight points away from a top five spot after an uncertain and inconsistent start to the season, but they do look to be finally finding their feet, and they take a three match unbeaten run into the match after thumping wins over Walthamstow and Enfield and a goalless draw at Brentwood- the first two of those bringing them eleven goals.

Second place Felixstowe and Walton United have stumbled of late, and go into their match at Ipswich Wanderers having won only one of their last five. The Seasiders have seen the Trawler Boys take advantage of their recent stumbles, and as well as that five point gap have played two games more so will not want to let the Lowestoft lead get any bigger. Wanderers have also lost their form at exactly the same time, and as a consequence have lost their last four matches, a run which has seen them slip down to sixteenth.

Brightlingsea Regent, in third, could go level on points with Felixstowe could they add another three points- and Regent have bottom side Stowmarket Town standing in their way, so must be favourites. Regent have won three of their last four in the League and looked good in defeating play off rivals Bowers & Pitsea last weekend, whilst their hosts are still without a win all season and have taken only two points from their fourteen games so far. They come into this match on the back of five consecutive defeats, matches which have seen them concede twenty one goals.
