Promotion-chasing Uxbridge host record-breaking Northwood at Honeycroft today- and the home side have decreed this a community day, allowing all-comers to pay what they want. This is part of the club's celebrations for their one hundred and fiftieth anniversary, and Under 16's go free even if they want to pay!
The hosts start the day in third place, the visitors in eleventh- but that eleventh place doesn't tell the whole story. As recently as the middle of November the Woods were rock-bottom, but six wins from nine since then have propelled them up the table. Even more remarkably, they've won their last five matches on the road- and Uxbridge should not be complacent because of their lofty position, as amongst the sides defeated during those nine matches were their promotion rivals Marlow, Chertsey Town and Basingstoke Town.
The Red Army won't be lacking in confidence, however- although the hosts are on their worst run so far this season, with only four points from their last twelve.
