Phoenix Sports new striker hits four goals in his first match

Phoenix Sports hadn't won a Pitching In Isthmian South East match in more than three months, but that was before Calvin Poku pulled on their number nine shirt. The striker, who has been with Halstead Town in the Thurlow Nunn League this season, took twenty minutes to open his Sports account- and within fifty minutes more had added three more, taking his tally to four for the match and firing his side to a five-two victory.

This isn't Calvin's first time at the Mayplace Ground- he played briefly with the club during the 2016-17 season- but he has played for a number of other Pitching In Isthmian clubs, including Grays Athletic, for whom he played for the Under 18's before making the first team squad, Hornchurch and Bowers and Pitsea. He also spent time with Redbridge and Barkingside.
