Price for Bowers

By Ian Townsend

Striker Matthew Price is new at Bowers and Pitsea

Bowers and Pitsea gave a debut to striker Matt Price in Tuesday night's Velocity Cup defeat at Billericay Town.

Striker Matt started this season at Brentwood Town, his third spell with the Blues, and he made eight appearances this time around, scoring twice. He scored seven goals for Heybridge Swifts last season, after returning to the club in February. He rejoined Swifts from- coincidentally- Billericay Town, where he played fifteen times and scored two goals.

Matthew had a magnificent 2021-22 season for Canvey Island, scoring thirty two times- including the equaliser in the Play Off Final against Brentwood.

He was previously with Coggeshall Town, East Thurrock United, and- of course- Swifts, where he scored twenty two goals in 2018-19, and thirty six the season before (half for Brentwood), winning the Golden Boot. He previously played for Horsham and Tooting & Mitcham United.
