Read back with the Robins

Defender Luke Read returns to Carshalton Athletic

After only one season away, Carshalton Athletic have announced that defender Luke Read has returned to Colston Avenue.

Luke left the Robins last summer after taking part in four campaigns with the club- indeed he made forty four appearances during 21-22. He was a big part of the side which reached the FA Cup First Round in 2019-20, after making his debut in the winter of 2019 and becoming a crucial component in the side which reached the Premier Play Off Semi-Finals that season.

He ended up with former- and now, once again, current- Robins boss Peter Adeniyi at Merstham last season, played thirty four times, and has recently been awarded the Player of the season and Managers Player of the Season awards by the Moatsiders.

Prior to his time with the Robins, Luke was in the USA, playing for- and studying at- Northern Illinois University.
