Regent ask supporters to bring food for the needy

Brightlingsea Regent to hold foodbank collection v Worthing on Saturday


Brightlingsea Regent are asking all home fans- and visiting fans, if they wouldn't mind- to bring items of food for donation to the local foodbank to Saturday's match against Worthing.

The club state:

'Brightlingsea Regent FC don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we want to help provide emergency food and support to local people who are referred to the foodbank in times of crisis. Over a third of those that Foodbanks help are children. Colchester Foodbank are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.'

If you could bring any of the following, making sure that any use by dates are at least two months away, they'd be extremely grateful.

  • Tinned ham or corned beef
  • Tinned salmon
  • Box of sweet or savoury biscuits
  • Tinned fruit
  • Advent Calendar
  • Box of Shortbread,
  • Mince pies
  • Small box of assorted sweets
  • Children’s selection box
  • Ready-made custard/ puddings
  • Small fancy cakes or Yule log
  • Snacks, crisps or nibbles
  • Chocolate spread
  • Instant hot chocolate
  • Long life milk
  • Long life fruit juice
  • Tinned fruit
  • Tinned fish
  • Tinned macaroni/ravioli
  • Tinned vegetables
  • Tinned custard/rice pudding
  • Crisps
  • Multi pack biscuits- Kit Kat Club
  • Shampoo, razors, shower gel,
  • Male and female deodorant, shaving gel/foam
  • Small packs of washing powder/gel/tabs
  • Nappies size 5,6,7

No home made items, and no alcohol please.
