Rio moves to a different seaside- and makes an immediate winning debut against his former club!

From Canvey Island to Margate for Rio Davidson-Phipps

Margate announced the signing of former Canvey Island full back Rio Davidson-Phipps on Friday, and then gave him his debut against the Gulls as his new side won for the first time in months to climb out of the bottom four.

Rio only played once for the Gulls, so he won't have had time to establish hero status in that part of Essex. His only appearance came in three-nil defeat against Enfield Town earlier this month.

Earlir in his career he came through the Barnet Academy before joining Carshalton Athletic, and also spent some time with Whyteleafe, as well as playing for a while at Croydon. Whilst at Carshalton he spent a short time at Greenwich Borough on loan. Sutton Common Rovers was another of his stops, and he spent time with Walton Casuals before joining Bishop's Stortford at the start of the 21-22 campaign. He has also had very brief periods with Haringey Borough and Herne Bay.

Prior to joining Canvey he was playing in Scotland, for Cove Rangers.
