Rocks management team to depart tomorrow

East Thurrock United begin manager search

East Thurrock United have announced that their management team, led by manager Marc Harrison, will leave the club after tomorrow's match against Stowmarket Town.

Marc and Assistant Liam Wallace took over at Rookery Hill in November 2021, soon after departing Tilbury, where they had spent nearly three years, steering the Dockers into a play off place at the time the 2019-20 campaign ended, and to the top of the table when 20-21 crashed to a premature end. They had previously led Basildon United to promotion from the Essex Senior League.

The club explained:

'This decision came following a midweek discussion between Marc and club chairman Steve Wiseman at which the club finances and playing budget were discussed at some length.

Most supporters will be aware that over the last three years or so, a lot of work and sacrifice has taken place to stabilise the financial situation at the club, and the football club is now operating debt free and on a sound self financing basis. We cannot put the future of the club in jeopardy by making promises we cannot afford to keep.'
