Semi-Final glory for Billericay as a second consecutive final beckons

Billericay Town come from behind to defeat Dulwich Hamlet and reach the Final of the Reposs Isthmian Women’s Cup

Billericay Town last night knocked Dulwich Hamlet out of a second cup competition of the season, coming from behind to inflict misery on those in pink and blue.

Hamlet had been pretty much unbeatable at Champion Hill, and were looking for revenge for that earlier FA Cup defeat. They went ahead on twenty five minutes, Martha Goddard doing all of the work, charging down the left, cutting into the box and finding the corner of the net. They held that lead until almost the hour mark, and then we were entertained by the Soraya Walsh show.

Just before the hour, the Blues number twenty four- who had seen an effort blocked just moments before- this time made no mistake. Four minutes later she was in the right place at the right time once more, completing the turnaround to put her side ahead for the first time- and three minutes from time she turned provider, assisting Karissa Doo to make it three-one.

Billericay will take on either Bognor Regis Town or Ashford United in the Final, that match scheduled for next week.
