Sessegnon in Stripes

Chris Sessegnon is new at Folkestone Invicta

Folkestone Invicta might not have managed to play any football on Saturday, but they did at least have a new signing to shout about, Chris Sessegnon making to move to the seaside.

Defender Chris came through the ranks at Sutton United, and first came to our attention way back in 2012, when he had loan spells at Tooting & Mitcham United and Kingstonian. A move to Dover Athletic followed, and after season by the Channel he decided to move inland, Ebbsfleet United his next stop. He went on to play for Eastbourne Borough and Whitehawk in National League South, before heading back in our direction, a brief spell at Leatherhead followed by a much longer period with Margate.

His time with the Blues was rather injury hit, but he made appearances during 2016-17 and 17-18, and had made thirty seven appearances before the 2019-20 campaign came to a covid related stop for all of us. He played seven more times before 20-21 went the same way, and twice at the start of 21-22 before heading to Surrey to join Carshalton Athletic. Seven Robins appearances occurred before Horsham came calling, and he made twenty seven Hornets appearances during that season, including a Velocity Cup Final win against former club Margate.

He made twenty eight more Horsham appearances last season, and has recently spent a little time at Chipstead.
