We asked our fabulous photographers to pick their favourite photograph of the Pitching In Isthmian campaign, and explain why it’s important to them. We’re off to Leatherhead with Chloe

When was the image taken (match, event, etc)?

Leatherhead FC vs Uxbridge FC on Saturday 15th February 2023, a goal line scramble after the keeper missed the save. The game ended 0-0.

Why is it important to you?

It was the first photo of mine to get into the newspaper so it feels special to me, even if it wasn’t my best photo of the season. I also really like the position of the goalkeeper.

How and why did you begin taking photographs at football matches?

I'd supported Leatherhead for about 8 years (I’m now 15) and would get involved with anything including borrowing cameras to take photos of half-time mascots. I really enjoyed it, so for my fifteenth birthday I asked for- and received- my camera. The rest is history.

What are your hopes for the forthcoming season?

To complete my first full season as a photographer and keep improving my skills, I would also love to see Leatherhead get promoted!
