When was the image taken (match, event, etc)?

This image was taken at the Movie Starr Stadium. Canvey Island v Corinthian Casuals, 24th September 2022.

Why is it important to you?

When Canvey scored the players came to celebrate with their fans. It was a nice moment which I was there for, in the right place at the right time. The club also used it on their banner for the match report.

How and why did you begin taking photographs at football matches?

A friend of mine invited me to the game and I hadn't been to a football match for years. I was excited to experience it again and this time I decided to take my camera to document the day. I had a really good time amongst the Canvey Ultras who didn't seem to mind that I was pointing my camera in their faces. The experience re-ignited my passion for photography and football again but also gave me the idea for a long-term project.

What are your hopes for the forthcoming season?

To continue document the Canvey Island fans and explore the relationship and experiences they have with the club they love. Attend more games home and away and hopefully by the end of the project make a book.
