Shot of the Season: Shirley Whitlow

By Ian Townsend

We’re asking our fabulous photographers to send in their favourite image of the Pitching In Isthmian season and explain why it’s important to them. Shirley has documented a fine season for Lowestoft Town

When was the image taken (match, event, etc)?

The photo was taken at the Fosters Solicitors Community Stadium where Lowestoft Town FC hosted Brentwood Town FC on the final match of the season April 27th.

Why is it important to you?

This photo is important to me as it sums up all of the hard work that has taken place at the club this past season from all involved with the club. I'm sure all the supporters will agree that the camaraderie between the players and management, their dogged determination to put on a good show and their work rate has been second to none this season. It's been a long time since Lowestoft has won any silverware and seeing the joy on the players faces lifting the Isthmian North Division trophy as Champions was priceless.

Where can we find the rest of your work?

The rest of my work can be found on the Lowestoft Town FC website.

Thanks Shirley- now who's next? Send you image- and your answers to the questions- to Ian at townsendaround@gmail.com and you'll see it here soon.
