Steppin' Out to Uxbridge

Joe Jackson leaves Bedfont Sports for a new challenge

Uxbridge have apparently signed Bedfont Sports stalwart Joe Jackson, who leaves the Eagles after eight years fine service.

Joe, according to Sports, made one hundred and seventy appearances for the club, including forty six last season. His debut came aged just sixteen.

Whilst there have been many fine moments during that period, perhaps the finest came in last season's run to the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round. After being on the bench for the win over Herne Bay in the Preliminary Round, Joe was back in the side for the win over Spelthorne Sports in the next round, a victory which earned the club a trip to Dulwich Hamlet. Just after the half hour in that tie at Champion Hill, Joe stepped up to give his side the lead- and earn them a famous victory. They went on to defeat Sholing in the next round before finally departing in a narrow defeat to Kidderminster Harriers, one step from the promised land.

Joe could make his competitive Uxbridge debut against Hanworth Villa on Saturday.
