Sudbury announce 'Yellow for Pele' Day

By Ian Townsend

Saturday's match against East Thurrock United will be a celebration of the Brazilian superstar

AFC Sudbury- the Yellows- have announced that Saturday's match against East Thurrock United will be even more yellow than usual, as it will be played as a tribute to late Brazilian superstar Pele.

The club have arranged samba music, face painting, special Brazilian burgers, VIP guests, a special tribute to the great man, and much, much more. The club have also asked fans to wear yellow on the day- although we suspect that many of them would have done that anyway!

Away from the commemorations and carnival, the match itself is rather important. The hosts, top of the table with a four point lead, face one of the other form sides in the Division, the Rocks firmly in the play off hunt after winning seven of their last ten matches. A win for the visitors could take them level with the top five- it would have to be rather a large win indeed to take them into the top five- whilst the hosts have the challenge of Hashtag United in their rear-view mirror. The Yellows have a one hundred percent home record, so won't be short on confidence.
