Super Sunday!

All roads head to Bromley and Bognor, as Cray Wanderers welcome Haringey Borough and Chichester City 'host' Herne Bay

Pitching In Isthmian Premier

Sunday is not a day of leisure if you happen to be a player- or a supporter- of Cray Wanderers or Haringey Borough, as the two meet at Hayes Lane with both sides in desperate need of points at the wrong end of the table.

Borough’s need is, admittedly, more desperate than that of their hosts. With only one win and eight points all season, the North Londoners are already ten points behind Wands, and Wands are hardly comfortable. The last eight league matches have seen four draws and four defeats, and whilst they’ve shown plenty of spirit and had very little luck, at some point they are going to have to start winning matches if they are going to escape from the dire predicament they find themselves in.

Cray Wanderers weren’t expected to be fighting at the wrong end of the table, having come so close to glory at the other end last season. Wands fans will be satisfied with their sides form, however, and they go into this one after four unbeaten matches and only one defeat in six.

The last five meetings between the sides have seen two wins for Wands, one for Borough, and two draws. Wands left their two encounters last season with four points.

In Pitching In Isthmian South East work on the Chichester City pitch continues, so City are once again 'hosting' their matches at the MKM Arena, otherwise known as Nyewood Lane, home of Bognor Regis Town. Herne Bay are the visitors.

City have lost their way a little, losing their last two and indeed winning only one of seven, a run which has seen them slip down to eleventh place. Their visitors started the weekend three points and two places better off, Bay with only one win in six- but only one defeat, too, having drawn the other four of them.

City have been better on the road than at home this season, but to be fair they haven't played at home; whilst Bay have lost only once on the road.
