Tags triumph -and climb to sixth

A win for Carshalton Athletic could have taken them top- but Hashtag United had other ideas

Carshalton Athletic brought a one hundred percent home record- in all competitions- into last night's match with Hashtag United, along with the knowledge that another victory would lift them to the top of the table. The Robins were in superb form, and had conceded only one goal at home- but after just eight minutes of the match that tally had been doubled, Alfie Cue putting the visitors ahead.

Cue, who scored both goals in the Tags victory over Wingate & Finchley on Saturday, has had a fine start to his Hashtag career, and it continued as he won his second Man of the Match Award in a row. His chance came when Pedro Carvalho delivered a cross, and the Tags number nine managed to control the ball with his chest before firing home.

The Robins have been a magnificent attacking force this season and did their best over the following eighty two minutes to engineer an equaliser, but the resilient visitors held out to climb up to sixth place in the table- only a point behind fifth place Enfield Town. Carshalton stay second- and face a double Steve McKimm derby over the next two Saturdays, after drawing their former managers new club, Cray Valley PM, in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy.

The Tags now have to wait until October 7th for a match, and they'll be back in Surrey on October 7th for a Trophy tie at South Park Reigate.
