Whether Ramsgate will be promoted from Pitching In Isthmian South East this season remains undecided, but if they do go up, much of the credit should go to striker Joe Taylor.
Joe is rather used to goalscoring milestones, and on league goals alone already looks a shoe-in for yet another Golden Boot. On Saturday he scored a hat trick to earn his side victory at Chichester City, and took his total of goals in all competitions to a rather incredible fifty two!
As well as that being his fifth hat trick of the season- the others came against Bexhill United, Phoenix Sports, Lancing and East Grinstead Town, so we suspect that if it comes down to a play off final he'll be hoping for Sussex opponents- it also created two club milestones, taking him past two records previously held by Mickey Williamson- who scored fifty goals during the 1968-69 campaign and one hundred and twenty goals for the club. Joe now has one hundred and twenty one!
Many congratulations to a man who has regularly been the most lethal number nine in the Pitching in Isthmian League- indeed, we've pictured him with last season's Golden Boot (won with Lewes) to remind him what it will feel like when he collects the next one!
