Taylor makes a scoring return to the Urchins

By Ian Townsend

Jack Taylor is back at Hornchurch- and what a return!

Hornchurch yesterday announced the return to the club of Sutton United defender Jack Taylor, thrust him immediately back into the squad, and saw him make a perfect debut by scoring the winning goal against Concord Rangers deep in added time.

Jack made three appearances for the Urchins at the end of Jan/start of Feb before being recalled by United and signing a professional contract. This time he returns until the end of the season.

Jack has already had another Pitching In Isthmian loan spell this season, as he spent the first half on the season on loan at South East side Burgess Hill Town. He was a big success at Hill, playing twenty six times and scoring one goal. His final Hillians appearance was on January 13th, as his side lost four-two at leaders Ramsgate.

The centre back is a graduate of the Bexhill College Football Academy, and whilst studying went on to play Under 18 football for National League South side Eastbourne Borough before becoming part of their first team squad as they made it into the Play Offs at the end of the 21-22 season. This brought him to the attention of the folks at Gander Green Lane, and he signed for Sutton in summer 2022.
