Three Darts for Gate

Margate announced three loan arrivals from Dartford prior to Saturday's draw with Enfield Town, two of whom made the bench, one of whom made a debut.

Midfielder Louie Atkins didn't get off the bench, but we're sure his chance will soon arrive. Louie has played a big part in the success of the Darts Under 19 side, and also played his part in the first team squad- indeed, at the end of the 21-22 season he emerged from the bench as the Darts defeated our very own Folkestone Invicta to win the Kent Senior Cup. Holmesdale in the SCEFL was a loan destination for him last season.

Jeremiah Pinder was Saturday's debutant, emerging for the last ten minutes. A forward according to Gate, although the Darts have him listed as a midfielder, he's also a big part of the Under 19 side at Princes Park, and indeed scored the opening goal as they defeated title rivals Eastleigh last week to go thirteen points clear at the top and virtually seal the National League Under 19 South title. He also played for the first team against Maidstone United in the Kent Senior Cup last week.

Another forward, Ashton Day, didn't feature- but we suspect we'll see him soon. Ashton actually signed first team forms last summer, after featuring in the first team squad at the end of last season- although we don't think he emerged from the bench. He's also part of that successful Under 19 squad, so he won't be short of familiar company!
