Tuesday's Ryman Premier review

Second half goals from Kevin James, Dean Lodge, Xavier Vidal and Erhun Oztumer saw Dulwich Hamlet turn round a two-goal half time deficit to win 3-2 at Margate's Hartdown Park on Tuesday night to move level on points with Ryman Premier leaders Kingstonian, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Hamlet trailed until the hour-mark after Anthony Riviere had given Gate a 10th minute lead that John Beales doubled on 33 minutes. James reduced the arrears on the hour and then stoppage time goals from Vidal and Oztumer carried them to a victory that seemed unlikely for long periods of the game. The 74th minute dismissal of Margate`s James Folkes, who received two quick yellow cards, proving to be the turning point.

Maidstone United missed the chance to return to the top of the table after a shock 4-1 defeat at Bayliss Avenue against struggling Thamesmead Town.

A draw would have moved Stones back to the top but they dropped to third after Hamlet's victory. Tommy Whitnell put Mead in front on 13 minutes and Sean Roberts made it two after 38 minutes. Defender Jerrome Sobers gave the visiting side hope on the hour-mark but Junior Baker restored the two-goal cushion three minutes later and Whitnell scored his second on 68 minutes.

Goals by Terry Dodd and Kane Wills gave Bognor Regis Town a 2-1 win at bottom-markers Cray Wanderers – the Rocks` fifth straight win.

Cray fielded no fewer than seven new players but were behind to Dodd`s sixth minute opener. Paul Vines equalised on 34 minutes but Wills restored the Sussex side`s lead four minutes later, and that`s how the scoreline remained.

AFC Hornchurch did their play-off hopes a power of good after a comfortable 3-0 win against third-bottom Enfield Town at Bridge Road.

Stefan Payne gave the Urchins a 32nd minute lead that George Purcell doubled five minutes into the second half. And Purcell's second a minute from time completed the victory.

Lowestoft Town responded after their derby disappointment against Bury Town with a clean sheet and a solid performance to dig out a 3-0 win over fourth-bottom East Thurrock United at Crown Meadow.

Jake Reed broke the deadlock to put the Trawlerboys in front five minutes before half-time. Manny Osei then took only five minutes of the second half to double the home side`s lead and Michael Frew came off the bench to add a third in the final minute.

Hendon won 1-0 at New Lodge against Billericay Town, a first goal for the Greens from Adam Wallace in the opening minute proving enough to secure all three points.

Bury Town followed up last Saturday's derby success at Lowestoft with a 2-1 win at Ram Meadow against Grays Athletic, who are getting sucked in towards the relegation dog-fight.

Billy Clark gave the home Blues an early eighth minute lead but they were reduced to ten-men on 33 minutes when Tom Bullard was sent-off for what was adjudged to be a two-footed tackle. This spurred the visitors on and they duly equalised on 38 minutes with a spectacular overhead kick by Kenny Beaney. With four minutes of the half remaining they also were reduced to ten-men and a draw looked on the cards until eight minutes from time when Clark crashed home the winner to give Bury the points.

Leiston leap-frogged Canvey Island into twelfth spot but almost threw away a 3-0 lead at The Prospects Stadium.

Gareth Heath gave the visitors the lead on 12 minutes, with Stuart Boardley doubling the advantage seven minutes later. Heath scored his second and Leiston's third on 34 minutes to ensure a comfortable 3-0 interval lead. But sometimes it can be too comfortable a lead and John Sands got Canvey back into the game by scoring on 62 minutes and 70 minutes to take his tally for the club to seven goals in four games. Despite a couple of near misses and seven minutes of stoppage time, Canvey were unable to find an equaliser and the points made their way back up to Suffolk.

Wingate & Finchley's poor form continued with a 2-0 defeat at Hampton & Richmond Borough as the Blues were dragged closer to the relegation zone.

The match was a game of two halves as the hosts dominated the opening 45, scoring twice through Charlie Moone and Stuart Lake, and though Wingate pressed in the second period, they could not find a way past the stubborn goalkeeper.

The result was everything in the match between Harrow Borough and second-bottom Carshalton Athletic at Earlsmead, and it was a good one for the home side as they clocked up only their third home win of the season - their first since November 2nd - and in doing so put some daylight between themselves and the relegation places.

It was the visiting Robins who drew first blood when Jason Henry gave them an early seventh minute lead. Victor Osobu equalised 10 minutes later with the winner eventually arriving 20 minutes from time when the unfortunate David Bonsu deflected the ball past his own keeper.
