Twelve points clear- with six games left- as the Curfews close in on the title

Chertsey win again, Marlow and Leatherhead battle for second, Vale crush Westfield, and Villa, Woods, Baggies, Rovers and Uxbridge complete our winners list

Southall hoped to get back to winning ways but faced the biggest possible challenge- leaders Chertsey Town, unbeaten in six months! It turned out to be a challenge that the hosts couldn’t withstand, and a third defeat in a row, as the Curfews coasted to victory and held onto their twelve point lead at the top. Conor Lee opened the scoring on thirty three minutes from a free kick, and ten minutes from time the visitors made it two, Oliver McCoy’s nineteenth of the campaign. A red card for Kevin Diomande- who had only been on the field for twelve minutes- left the hosts with ten men, and deep in added time the visitors added a third, Wilf Omperon rounding off a positive afternoon for his side.

The triumphant Curfews are pictured with Jonathan Payne, who was celebrating a rather significant birthday, as you might see from his badge. We hope you had a wonderful day, Jonathan, and that you don't mind us using the picture!

Uxbridge hosted the early kick off as Guernsey came to call. Both sides were looking to get back to winning ways, but the hosts had lost one match and the visitors three in a row, conceding fifteen goals in the process. Uxbridge went ahead midway through the first half, Kai Hobbs with the opener, and they confirmed the victory twenty minutes before the end of the match, Ezra Ndukuba making it two- and three points.

Marlow knew they’d probably need to win to stay second, and they got one, although visitors Ascot United never gave up. Dawid Rogalski continued his fine goalscoring form with the opener, his THIRTY FIFTH of the season coming eight minutes before the break, and when Josh Masters made it two fourteen minutes from time it looked like victory was assured. The Yellas almost immediately hit back, however, Sean McCormack giving them hope, but the hosts held on for three points.

Leatherhead hoped to go second with victory over Binfield at Fetcham Grove- and they got that victory, but remain in third place. Ibrahim Olutade got their customary early goal on ten minutes, and eighteen minutes from time Trey Masikini made it two, a result which takes them thirteen points clear of sixth place. The Moles remain ten points from safety.

Westfield and Raynes Park Vale were fighting for fifth place- but the match actually ended with one of them in fourth! Vale went ahead after seven minutes when Jordan Gallagher converted from the spot, and twenty minutes from time the hosts were undone again, Tom Barnes making it two. There was still time for a third, and Jake Gallagher got that- three-nil, three points, fourth place and a five point gap between the sides, although Westfield still have a game in hand and are still only a point away from fifth place, now occupied by Southall- but will be disappointed at losing an unbeaten home run that went back to mid October.

Thatcham Town played host to Hanworth Villa, a much shorter journey for the Villains after their five goal hammering of Guernsey in midweek, and much less likely to be interrupted by fog- but the outcome was rather similar if a little less emphatic. The visitors opened the scoring after eight minutes, George Wells making it one-nil, and little more than ten minutes later the advantage was doubled, Guy Ansah-Palmer with the second. A red card for Josh Blackwood saw the Kingfishers reduced to ten men on the hour, and a third Villa goal arrived twelve minutes from time, Bruno Robertson-Tingle with that one. The hosts got a consolation with three minutes to go, Harry Hoath pulling one back, but that’s six wins from seven for the visitors, who are nine points away from the top five.

Sutton Common Rovers welcomed Chipstead, and a goal in each half gave them three valuable points. Jayden Smith opened the scoring five minutes before the break, and just after the hour Ashley Sheppard added a second, a result which saw Rovers climb to fifteenth and open up an eighteen point gap between themselves and the danger zone. For the Chips, that gap is ten points.

Corinthian-Casuals were hosting a bit of an Athletic Bilbao day and a number of London based Athletic fans, but they couldn’t bring any La Liga form to their encounter with Badshot Lea. All the notable action came after the break, and most of it went to the visitors. Kareem Akinibbi put the Baggies ahead from the spot on fifty two minutes, and fifteen minutes later, another penalty, the same result- but this time it was Lamin Ceesay who converted. Casuals got one back eleven minutes before the end, Aderi Arthur-Dede giving the home fans hope, but that hope ended right at the end, Joshua Keeya making it three-one. Eleven points is the gap between Casuals and safety.

Northwood welcome Hartley Wintney, the Woods hoping to build on their six goal performance in midweek, the Row looking to get back on an even keel after a run of one win in six. The Woods only got half their midweek goals this time around, but that was more than enough as they kept a clean sheet. Kofi Anokye-Boadi opened the scoring just before half time, and the goals stopped until the closing stages, when Dan Williams made it two, eight minutes from time. On eight seven minutes a Carl Stewart spot kick sealed a three-nil win for the hosts.

South Park Reigate and Metropolitan Police couldn’t manage a goal between them at Whitehall Lane.
