Leatherhead debuts for James O’Halloran and Jake Embery

Leatherhead had two new names in their starting eleven as they lost narrowly to Cheshunt on Saturday, with debuts for James O’Halloran and Jake Embery.

James O'Halloran is a defender who first played Pitching In Isthmian football for Kingstonian, where he played on loan from AFC Wimbledon towards the end of the 2018-19 campaign, making six appearances. Prior to the Dons he was a young player with Maidstone United and was called up by England Under 18's, and he also spent time with Merstham, making twenty five appearances during 2019-20. He has most recently been with Walton Casuals in the Pitching In Southern Premier.

Jake Embery, a striker, departed Herne Bay for Maidstone United aged just nineteen, in February 2019- a highly sought after signing after he scored forty nine goals in eighty five appearances at Winch's Field. His two years with the Stones were not only hit by the pandemic but also by injury, dislocating a shoulder and suffering an ankle problem which stopped the Gallagher Stadium faithful ever seeing the best of him. He was invited back for pre-season, but decided instead to head back to the Kent coast and sign for Margate. He scored four goals in twelve appearances at Hartsdown Park, and then moved on to Horsham, where he played four times. He has most recently been with Tonbridge Angels.
