James Bessey-Saldanha and Tom Wray are new at Margate

Margate have announced the signings of winger James Bessey-Saldanha and goalkeeper Tom Wray.

James made thirty appearances for Gate during the 22-23 season, following forty seven during the 21-22 campaign. He then moved on to Sheppey United, spending last season with the Ites, where he made forty four appearances and scored three goals- one of them coming against Walsall in the First Round of the FA Cup.

James ended the 22-23 season on a dual registration deal at Bearsted in the SCEFL, making five appearances- his second spell with the club. Prior to his time at Margate he was with Sevenoaks Town.

Keeper Tom has a fair amount of Isthmian experience despite his young age, having had two spells on loan at Heybridge Swifts on loan from Dartford. He made thirteen appearances during the closing stages of the 22-23 season, including in the Play Off Final, and followed that with another seventeen last season, before returning to be part of the first team squad at the Darts, where he made his first team debut in 2022. He also had a loan spell in the SCEFL with K Sports during the 22-23 season.
