Two out of three ain't bad?

Vital relegation Play Off wins for Lancing and Witham Town, but we say a sad farewell to Chalfont St Peter

We had three relegation play off finals yesterday, and it was good news for Lancing and Witham Town, whilst Chalfont St Peter say goodbye- for now, at least.

The Lancers welcomed Newhaven Town, and fell behind just after the break when Lee Robinson, always prolific, put the visitors ahead. They were ahead for only five minutes, however, before Modou Jammeh equalised- and four minutes later the same player got what proved to be the winner, to ensure that Lancing remain at Step Four.

Our headline image is from Kyle Hemsley, and you can also watch the highlights below.

Also remaining at Step Four are Witham Town, who eased to a comfortable win over Saffron Walden Town despite ending the game with ten men. Rian Mclean put the hosts ahead just before the break, and eleven minutes after the restart Josh Osude made it two. It was three-nil just after the hour, Jimmy Wallace with that one, and despite a second yellow for Archie Tamplin the visitors couldn't make any inroads on that lead, so Witham stay with us.

Sadly, however, we lose Chalfont St Peter, who were hammered four-nil by Midlands side Boldmere St Michaels at Mill Meadow. We hope to see you back with us soon, Saints.
