Urchins, Wands, Gulls and Millers. But which is better?

We're about to find out- Our Pitching In Isthmian Premier Play Off semi-Finals are tonight

It's been a long, exciting and entertaining season, and it enters its final week as our Play Off contenders face off with the prize of the National League firmly in their sights.

Hornchurch, who finished the regular campaign in second place, welcome Cray Wanderers. The Urchins defeated the Wands home and away during the regular season, but the visitors travel on the back of a nine match unbeaten record whilst the hosts haven't quite been their imperious selves of late.

Wanderers actually fare better against Hornchurch at Bridge Avenue than they do at Hayes Lane. They've only picked up five wins from the last fifteen meetings between the clubs, but four of them have been on the road.

The other Semi-Final sees our two promoted North Division sides from last season meet, as Canvey Island welcome Aveley. Both sides have had magnificent campaigns; the Gulls lost for the first time in in two months as they fell to defeat against Lewes on Saturday, whilst the Millers already have one prize, the Velocity Cup, in their trophy cabinet and will be confident they can take another. The two sides met only a week ago, a two-two draw the outcome- the Gulls winning their meeting in January by the only goal of the game.

The Gulls tend to have a good record against the Millers. They took four points from them last season, too, and we have to go back to the 2018-19 campaign for the last Aveley win, a season during which they did the double.

The best of luck to each of our teams. Matches kick off at 7.45 PM.
