Vale stay top, Tanners ruin the Uxbridge party, and we’ve five for Hartley and four for the Baggies

By Ian Townsend

Chertsey are second, Southall come from two down to win, and we’ve victories for Villa, Westfield, Ashford and Casuals- it’s our Pitching In Isthmian South Central round up

Leaders Raynes Park Vale welcomed Northwood to South West London. The visitors were on a terrible run, six defeats in a row in all competitions, and they were behind after twelve minutes, Callum MacAllister scoring for the second time this week. That turned out to be the only goal, Vale remaining at the summit, a point ahead of second place Chertsey. The Woods are down in seventeenth.

Chertsey Town knew that any Raynes Park slip could see them go top, and they went ahead against Met Police after twenty five minutes, Gianluca Botti taking his tally for the season up to seven. Oliver McCoy made it two-nil to the Curfews within three minutes of the second half, and right at the end they made quite sure, Toby Little adding a third.

Leatherhead have been a little off their game of late, but they seemed desperate to spoil the Uxbridge party at the reopening of Honeycroft and its new 3G pitch, as Ollie Cook took only four minutes to put the Tanners ahead. The hosts levelled just before the break, Mickel Platt giving the home faithful something to celebrate, and it looked as if we’d see the points shared- but right at the end the Tanners decided otherwise, Cook restoring his sides lead and Trevan Robinson extending it to make it three-one and three points- a result which sees them in third, two points behind the leaders.

Southall and South Park were separated by only two points at kick off. The All were without a league defeat since the opening day, but it was the Sparks who opened the scoring, Aiden Brown scoring after ten minutes. The visitors made it two just before the half hour, Jamarie Brissett doubling their advantage- but the hosts were back into the match just before the break, William Montague giving them hope. That hope was realised two minutes after the restart, Jaden Thompson-Brissett making it two-two, and the turnaround was quickly complete, the same player making it three-two four minutes later. The All are four points off the top in fourth.

Badshot Lea took only nine minutes to take the lead as Chipstead came to call, Adam New with the goal, and they were two up by the break, the impressive Latin Ceesay scoring the second- his sixth of the season. The Chips got one back just after the hour, Bradley Wilson giving them hope, and five minutes later the Chips were no longer down, Dan Berry with an equaliser. The Baggies then awoke, Anuar Ceesay restoring their lead, and right at the end Cameron Rohart-Brown added a fourth, his side up to sixth.

Binfield are having a terrible campaign, and our bottom side had a terrible first half as Hartley Wintney came to call, goals from Elijas Bagdonavicius and Marco Neves giving them a two goal advantage at the break. That advantage increased once more when George Winser made it three, but the Moles then got one back, Connor Jeans with the goal- and they made a match of it with twelve minutes left, Dontaye Whittaker pulling it back to two-three. The next goal was vital- and it went to the visitors, Kanye Jobson making it four-two and sealing three points. There was still time for a fifth, Liam Gavin with that one, as the Moles pain continued.

After a goalless first half between Guernsey and Ashford Town, it looked as if we’d also have a goalless second half, only for the Tangerines to win it right at the end, Nathan Rogers with the only goal. That’s eight defeats in a row for the Green Lions.

Westfield have been magnificent of late, and scoring goals for fun- seven in midweek. They went ahead early on at Sutton Common Rovers, Alfie Huckle with the opener after just ten minutes, and doubled their advantage twelve minutes later, Jacob Breckon with the second of the day and his second of the week. Mayowa Adaje got the Woking side’s tenth goal of the week and third of the dat with seventeen minutes left, and they held on for a comfortable three points, up to thirteenth.

Ascot United and Hanworth Villa looked to be heading into the break goalless, until a penalty gave Brendan Matthew the chance to score his fourteenth goal of the season- and he made no mistake. The equaliser arrived just after the hour, Louis Collins finding the back of the Yellas net, and the Villains built on that, Kyen Nicholas putting them ahead with twelve minutes left. Five minutes later the visitors put daylight between themselves and their hosts, Finlay McNab making it three-one, and the Villains are up to eleventh.

Thatcham Town welcomed Corinthian-Casuals. The Kingfishers fell behind just before the half hour, Danny Campion with his second goal this week- but the visitors couldn’t hold onto their lead for more than five minutes, David Nyarko with the equaliser. Deep into added time, Casuals got a winner, Oscar Walton making it two-one.
