Third place Northwood welcomed sixth place Binfield to the top end of the Metropolitan Line, and did their visitors a big favour when Brandon Kalu saw red midway through the first half. The hosts, with their backs against the wall, then dug in to frustrate the Moles for the next sixty four minutes, and both sides had to settle for a point- which is more use to the Woods than the Moles, who drop to seventh.
Marlow, in fourth, welcomed Westfield. The hosts were four unbeaten and took that run to five with a comfortable victory- although it only became comfortable within the last eight minutes. Toby Raggett gave Marlow the lead after a quarter of an hour, his third goal in four matches, but the margin remained the same until eight minutes before the end, when Aaron McLeish-White’s ninth of the campaign put daylight between the sides. Jonathan Sanchez then saw red for the visitors, and right at the end Naheer-Omar Nawaf capitalised to score a third, his seventh of the season. Marlow open up a six point gap on sixth place Chertsey Town.
Hanworth Villa jumped into the top five for the first time this season, and hammered another nail into Tooting & Mitcham United’s coffin in the process, completing a double against the South Londoners. The Villains were out of sight by half time, Finley McNabb, George Wells and Kyen Nicholas each finding the back of the visitors net- and whilst the Terrors got one back from the spot just after the hour mark, Enoch Ako-Adjei’s finish made little difference to the outcome. Villa have opened up a two point gap over sixth place Chertsey Town, whilst the Terrors are thirteen points from safety.
Thatcham Town had seen had their fine run stall a little of late, and they lost for only the second time in eleven matches as Chipstead left with the points in a five goal thriller. Cameron Rohart-Brown put the Kingfishers ahead from the spot on seventeen minutes- taking himself to double figures for the season in the process- but the Chips levelled five minutes later through Jerry O’Sullivan and an own goal put them ahead six minutes before the break. The visitors stretched their lead with twenty four minutes remaining, Bradley Wilson the scorer, and although Ramarni Medford-Smith got one back for the hosts it wasn’t followed by an equaliser.
Uxbridge welcomed sixteenth place Ashford Town for a local derby, but it turned out that they weren’t at all welcoming, on the pitch at least. Anthony Mendy put them two goals up within half an hour, and Alex Witham made it three just before the break. Just after the hour Aaron Minhas made it four, and six minutes from time Mendy completed his hat trick. Right at the end Javin Dougan got one back for the Tangerines, but that wasn’t the last word, as their was still time for Presley Evans to say thank you very much and add a sixth. Uxbridge climb to eleventh, Town are sixteenth- one place and six points above the bottom four.
Guernsey welcome Merstham this evening. Both sides need the points, and both are in good form, but with the Moatsiders eight points from safety you’d have to say that they are more in need of a victory! Kick off is at 7.45 PM.
