Vita Risk Solutions: Manager of the Month Award, January 2024

By Ian Townsend

In conjunction with our friends at Vita Risk, we honour the best Pitching In Isthmian managers of January

We had a few technical difficulties, but, albeit later than usual, here are our first collection of Vita Risk Solutions Managers of the Month for 2024.

Premier Division

We’re off to Sussex, and we’re heading to King George V’s very favourite seaside resort, Bognor Regis- direct to the MKM Arena, where we’re honouring Rocks boss Robbie Blake.

Bognor Regis Town had a magnificent January. Six matches played, five victories in a row, Chatham Town, Cray Wanderers, Hashtag United, Margate and Billericay Town vanquished- that’s a list which includes two of the top three, in case you haven’t noticed- the Rocks have propelled themselves into play off contention; indeed, as we write, they’ve lost only one of their last fifteen league matches.

Many congrats to Robbie, and to all at the Nyecamp.

North Division

December saw us head to Ram Meadow, where we honoured Bury Town and their boss Cole Skuse. Perhaps we should just have pitched a tent in the car park, as we’re off there again!

January saw the Blues play six times, and amass an almost perfect sixteen points, whilst scoring nineteen goals and conceding only six. Only Bowers & Pitsea escaped with a point, Wroxham, New Salamis, Redbridge, Stowmarket Town and Maldon & Tiptree weren’t so lucky.

It isn’t too often that we award the same manager two months in a row, but we suspect that with two wins from two in February, Cole and his charges will be looking to make it a hat trick!

Many congrats to Cole, and to all at Ram Meadow.

South Central Division

It’s so long since Chertsey Town lost a match that we suspect you’ve forgotten it, but for reference, it was September 16th- and since then the Curfews have swept all before them. January saw them take on Hartley Wintney, Raynes Park Vale, Uxbridge, Ashford Town and Leatherhead, and those five matches delivered the maximum fifteen points and seventeen goals, so it was rather unsurprising that they ended the month four points clear at the top- a lead they’ve extended since, but perhaps we’ll worry about that when we’re announcing the February awards! At this point, it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise!

Our congratulations on a fabulous January go to Town boss Mark Harper, and all those who serve alongside him.

South East Division

It’s been a superb season so far for Cray Valley PM, and we’re off to the Artic Stadium to recognise the magnificent work of Millers boss Steve McKimm.

Cray Valley’s FA Cup and FA Trophy heroics from earlier in the campaign have left the Millers playing catch up in the league, and January saw them play seven times. If there was any thought that such a schedule might prove difficult, it was dispelled by an unbeaten month which brought wins over Sevenoaks Town, Sheppey United, Lancing, Chichester City and Ashford United, and delivered us a real title race.

Steve has deservedly had many plaudits this season, but this one comes with a shiny trophy. Many congratulations!
