Wallace new at the Gulls

From Cheshunt to Canvey Island for Jimmy Wallace

Canvey Island had a debutant in their number five shirt as they lost at Cray Wanderers last night, Jimmy Wallace making his debut after a move from Pitching In isthmian Premier rivals Cheshunt.

Centre back Jimmy came through the ranks at Southend United, playing Under 18 and Under 21 football for the Shrimpers. He first came our way when making a loan move to Bishop's Stortford during the 21-22 season, making twelve appearances and scoring in the last one- and he also had a loan spell at Witham Town at the end of that campaign, making fourteen appearances and- again- scoring in the last one, on this occasion helping his side retain its Isthmian status in the Relegation Play Off Final.

After leaving Southend he played for Harlow Town, and then moved on to have an injury-hit spell at Concord Rangers, then in National League South. His time with Cheshunt started in the summer, and he has made twenty one appearances, scoring once. Rather ironically his last Ambers appearance was also in defeat against Cray Wanderers, last Saturday. He must be rather sick of the sight of them!
