Nicky Ironton leaves Walthamstow

Walthamstow yesterday announced the departure of boss Nicky Ironton, releasing this short statement on social media:

'Walthamstow and first team manager Nicky Ironton have parted ways by mutual consent.

We would like to thank Nicky and his staff for all their hard work during their time with us. We wish them all the very best for the future.'

Nicky leaves the club in ninth place in Pitching In Isthmian North, and with a home match against bottom side Stowmarket Town to come tomorrow night.

Ironton took over at the club in September last year, needing to rebuild his first team squad, and yet steered them to fourth place in Pitching In Southern Division One Central- and a Play Off Semi-Final- last season. He signed a two year contract in May.

Walthamstow have lost their last three league matches.
