Wins for Felixstowe and Hartley Wintney lift them up the table

By Ian Townsend

We had a match in each of the Pitching In Isthmian North and South Central Divisions, and the Seasiders and the Row emerged triumphant

Both Felixstowe and Walton United and Bowers & Pitsea were hoping for the positive result that would propel them into the Pitching In Isthmian North top five- and they delivered a frantic first half that ended with the Seasiders on top after five goals.

Bowers went ahead after eight minutes through Manny Oluwasemo, only for the hosts to level through Charlie Warren sixteen minutes later. Callum Harrison put the Seasiders ahead for the first time ten minutes before the break, and then in the moments before half time we had two more goals, Sam Ford making it three-one only for Tosan Pope to immediately narrow the gap once more. It seems the side had expended their full ration of goals in the first half, as we got no more after the break, Felixstowe taking the points, climbing to fifth, and maintaining their unbeaten league record and maintaining their record of winning every home match in all competitions so far.

Over in the heart of Hampshire, Hartley Wintney and Ashford Town were both hoping for a second win of the season in Pitching In Isthmian South Central. The hosts had waited ten days since their last match, a one-nil win at Corinthian-Casuals, and obviously liked that scoreline, as they delivered it again! It seemed we'd have a goalless draw, and then right at the end Isiah Blankendal poped up with a winner, a result which sees his side climb to twelfth- one of six sides on six points.
