Wins for Sports and Uxbridge lift them up the table

By Ian Townsend

Marlow are the beneficiaries as Swans defeated. It's our (short) round up of two matches in Pitching In Isthmian South Central

Marlow climbed to second place in Pitching In Isthmian South Central last night- despite not being in action.

They were the beneficiaries of a fine victory for second bottom Bedfont Sports- now up two places of their own- over the former occupiers of second place, Walton & Hersham. Sports, who had taken two points from their previous twenty four, fell behind after only seven minutes when Harry Mills broke through their rearguard, but in their number nine Sam Evans they had the matchwinner. Sam found the back of the Swans net on twenty, twenty five and fifty seven minutes to put his side three one up and take his own tally to nine for the season. Eddie Simon got one back on seventy one minutes to make the closing stages interesting- that’s eight in nine matches for him- but Walton headed back to their home by the Thames with nothing to show for their efforts.

Uxbridge, flying high after their giant killing exploits against Dover Athletic in the FA Trophy on Saturday, didn’t have a hangover as they defeated hosts Sutton Common Rovers. Alex Witham got both goals in a two-nil victory- one right at the end of the first half, and another right at the end of second half, forty five minutes between them. Uxbridge are up to eleventh, Rovers in thirteenth.
