Yellows hold their lead- whilst the Tags make it eleven wins in a row

By Ian Townsend

AFC Sudbury come from behind to win, Hashtag hit four second half goals, Grays go third and a late goal earns a point for the Dockers. It's our Pitching In Isthmian North round up

We were left with only four matches in Pitching In Isthmian North, and three of them reached the break without a goal. The one that bucked that trend was something of a surprise, for as good as Wroxham have been lately- eight matches unbeaten whilst winning their last four- we expected leaders AFC Sudbury to be the favourites, on the back of their eight consecutive wins. It was the Yachtsmen, however, who broke the duck, Shaun Taylor making it seven goals in his last eleven matches with the opener. After the break, of course, the Yellows hit back, Josh Pollard taking just three minutes of the second half to level, and normal service was resumed when Nnamdi Nwachuku, playing for the first time in more than a month, got his thirty first goal of the season.

Hashtag United remain four points behind the yellows but continued their fine run, winning their eleventh consecutive league match- that’s more than any other side in the top eight levels of English football- by defeating Hullbridge Sports with four second half goals. Alex Teniola continued his fine run of form by getting the first two- that’s nine for the season, eight in his last eight- whilst Toby Aromolaran and Jermaine Francis added the other two late on. Grays Athletic are up to third, Cheyce Grant scoring the only goal of the game at Heybridge Swifts to give them a sixth consecutive win. Shortly after the goal Athletic were reduced to ten men, Rob Clark seeing red, but it had no impact on the outcome as the hosts couldn’t use make their extra man count. Swifts slip to fifth.

Finally, two late goals at Coles Park saw New Salamis and Tilbury play out a draw. Salamis went ahead with only seven minutes to go, Derek Asamoah with his eighteenth of the season, but right at the end the Dockers struck back, Luke Reeve levelling. New Dockers boss Scott Dash, reacting on social media, stated:

'So on reflection yesterday was a positive start for us. First point on the board showed good character after going behind late on. Out the bottom 4 onto a very tough home game next week. Support was fantastic.'
