A Premier Attendance review- August to January 25-26

Hamlet lead the way- with good news for Hill, Invicta, Brentwood and Potters Bar, too

Our statistician, Neil Pilcher, delivers a large set of attendance statistics every month. These are sent to every club in a document that is twenty eight pages long, and there is no way for us to upload all of that to the website, but we thought we’d give you a flavour of it- starting with Pitching In Isthmian Premier.

You won’t be at all surprised to see that our best supported club- by some distance- is Dulwich Hamlet. By the end of the first month of 2026, Champion Hill had seen an average of two thousand, one hundred and eighty nine supporters head to every match- seven hundred and fifty four, or perhaps a Cray Valley + Wingate & Finchley + Hashtag United home crowd ahead of second place Chatham Town.

We’ve included the club average table below.

Attendances are up on last season- despite the fact that we lost two of our highest supported clubs in Horsham and Dover Athletic, and also that we’ve been rather rain-impacted. It will stop raining at some point, honestly; given the weather since December you’d think that St Swithin’s Day had clashed with Christmas.

The biggest success stories have been Folkestone Invicta- the Stripes attendances up by nearly 25%, their fantastic form on the pitch and marvellously upgraded stadium drawing in new fans. You can say very much the same about Burgess Hill Town- in their case promotion and an upgraded stadium has brought at attendance increase of more than 60% (stats include one home match in February).

Potters Bar Town, another club with an upgraded ground, have an average attendance more than double of that they had last season (but that must be tempered slightly given they spent last season playing elsewhere whilst those improvements were made). Brentwood Town are also in this rather joyous list, their attendances up by more than 50% (again, this includes one home match in February).

Perennial nomads Hashtag United are also slightly up on last year- perhaps their move to Redbridge for what was described as a ‘long-term partnership’ might see that increase yet more next season, as a nomadic lifestyle hardly helps attract local fans.

Dulwich Hamlet hold seven of our top ten best attendances, the very best being the three thousand, three hundred and thirty four present for the visit of St Albans City on November 8th. The three thousand and forty nine who watched Chatham Town take on Dartford just after Christmas comes in third, whilst Ramsgate versus Folkestone Invicta- two thousand, two hundred and sixty eight- and St Albans City versus Wingate & Finchley- two thousand, two hundred and twelve- take places nine and ten.

We’ll leave you with the highest attendances by club table, below- and be back with more next month.
