A trio of Moatsiders
George Hill, Archie Johnson and Leo Young are new at Merstham
Merstham have announced three new arrivals.
Keeper George Hill has been with Kingstonian this season, playing five times on a dual-registration deal from Woking, where he is part of the development squad.
George was part of the AFC Whyteleafe side which earned a promotion and FA Vase Final double in 24-25, making sixteen appearances and playing in narrow defeat against Whitstable Town at Wembley whilst only seventeen years old.
He has also spent time with SE Dons and Corinthian-Casuals last season.
Full back Archie Johnson comes in from Ashford United. He signed for the Nuts and Bolts in the summer, after being named Sheppey United's Supporters and Players Player of the Year.
Defender Archie made forty three appearances for the Ites last season, and ended the 24-25 campaign at Whitehawk, playing ten times after moving to the seaside from Bowers and Pitsea.
He moved to the Len Salmon in November 2024, and made twenty appearances. He joined Bowers from Cray Wanderers, a second spell as a Wand, and also had a spell at Whitstable Town.
Archie moved back to Wands from Margate. He moved to the Kent coast in the summer of 2023 after sweeping all before him for Beckenham Town in the South East Division during the 22-23 campaign, and played thirty four times for Gate before his return to Cray.
He was in our South East Team of the Season at the end of the 22-23 campaign, won Supporters, Managers and Players Player of the Season awards, and made forty one appearances as Becks made their way to the Play Off Semi Final.
Leo Young makes a move from Carshalton Athletic, where he has played once this season. That followed nine appearances last season, after a move from AFC Wimbledon.
The centre back came through the Dons Academy- indeed he started there at a very young age, having more than eleven years with the club, captaining the youth team. He had a loan spell at Hastings United in our top flight during 24-25, playing twenty two times.
Last season saw him have a loan spell at Havant and Waterlooville, another at Welling United, where he made five appearances, and a third at Ramsgate, where he played five times.
