A very large collection of Hayes heroes
Kurtis Cumberbatch, Joe Gater, Ben Shroll, Medo Konte, Sean Basaye, Amari Fashanu and Kyle Daniel-Spray are all new at the Skyex
Hayes and Yeading United were rather busy whilst your usual scribe was on holiday, so we've a collection of new arrivals to tell you about:
Kurtis Cumberbatch played for Cray Valley PM last season, playing forty two times. He moved to the Millers from Hendon, playing nineteen times in the closing stages of the 24-25 campaign after twenty nine appearances for the North Londoners.
Kurtis moved to Hendon in December 2023, heading north from Gosport Borough. He moved to Borough from Carshalton Athletic in the summer of 2023, after thirty three appearances during the 22-23 season, and was previously with Billericasy Town, Slough Town, Dover Athletic, Farnborough, Harrow Borough and Welling United. He was formerly a Charlton Athletic youth.
Joe Gater started last season with Hartley Wintney, playing sixteen times. He joined The Row from The Yellas, playing forty two times for Ascot United during 24-25, and a handful of times during 23-24. He joined the Yellas after two seasons at Binfield.
Joe was in our Isthmian South Central team of the year at the end of 2018-19, a stalwart at Bracknell Town. After departing the Robins he stepped up a level to play for Hartley Wintney for the first time, and prior to his Bracknell period played for Basingstoke Town and Chesham United, after coming through the ranks at Barnet.
Ben Shroll, a centre back, came through the youth setup at Aldershot Town, from where he went on loan to Hampton & Richmond Borough and Havant and Waterlooville. He joined Hayes & Yeading United during 23-24, moved to Sholing in the summer of 2024, and was on loan at Merstham during 24-25, playing eleven times. He went on to make twelve appearances for the Moatsiders last season, and fifteen times- with three goals- for Hassocks.
Medo Konte started last season at Tilbury, the full back playing seventeen times, and then played for Flackwell Heath.
He spent some time with Mousehole during the 24-25 season, and previously played for Fleet Town, and also spent time with Croydon Athletic during their SCEFL promotion season.
Sean Basaye spent time at Bracknell Town last season, and was previously the captain of Burnham FC. He made thirty five appearances for Burnham last season despite his time with the Robins, the last of those their Play off Semi-Final defeat to Windsor & Eton.
He previously played for Charlton Athletic, Tooting & Mitcham United and Guildford City.
Amari Fashanu was with Binfield last season, his forty one appearances bringing thirteen goals and many impressive performances. He was previously with Badshot Lea, and with Bracknell Town. Whilst with the latter he spent time on loan at Sandhurst Town.
Full back Kyle Daniel-Spray was also at Binfield last season, playing forty four times and scoring once. He was with us prior to his time with the Moles, as he spent two seasons with Thatcham Town, joining the Kingfishers after coming through the youth ranks at Reading to play for their Under 18 side.
