Ellis Ashworth makes a move to Brightlingsea
Brightlingsea Regent is the new home for Ellis Ashworth.
Defender Ellis makes a move from Heybridge Swifts, where he has been for around two months and played five times. He ended last season with Basildon United, joining the Bees from Essex Senior League side Romford on a dual-registration deal. He made ten appearances for Boro, six for Basildon.
He also played for the Bees previously. He played seventeen times during the 21-22 season, twenty during 22-23 and sixteen times during 23-24 season. In between his Basildon spells he spent a short time with Witham Town, and he also played six times for Margate.
Ellis played for a while in the USA, first coming to our attention when he joined Harlow Town on a dual-registration deal from Royston Town. He only made two appearances for the Hawks. He also apparently spent a brief time with East Thurrock United- although it must have been brief because we can't remember it- and turned out for Grays Athletic in pre-season 2021.
