Can Hendon hit the top?

Hendon have had a fine start to their season, playing four matches in all competitions, winning them all, and scoring a sensational eighteen goals in the process. Three of those matches have been at their own Silver Jubilee Park, and they have provided fifteen of those goals and brought two clean sheets, so the home fans will be delighted to be in familiar surroundings once more as Bedfont Sports make the trip. 

Sports would go above their hosts with victory, and the West Londoners have played well so far, a win against Ascot United and a draw at highly-fancied Hayes & Yeading United taking them into fifth spot. The meetings between the sides last season brought four valuable points to Hendon- and we’re sure they’d be delighted with three more tonight.

Bognor Regis Town are on the road, making the short trip to Littlehampton Town for a seaside special. The Rocks will be licking their wounds after being dumped out of the FA Cup on their own patch by Step Five East Grinstead Town on Saturday, but were in good form prior to that and will expect to quickly return to that level. 

The hosting Golds have lost each of their last three competitive matches by three goals to one, and will be rather keen to turn that around and pick up their first points of the campaign. They’ll also be boosted by the memories of the last three meetings between the sides, as they emerged victorious each time- doing the double last season.

Ashford Town and Cobham, Combined Counties champions last season, have both only managed one League match so far, with a win for the Tangerines and a loss for their visitors this evening. After two knockout defeats Town got their season up and running by hammering Binfield last Tuesday evening, whilst Cobham have recorded two wins from four, both of them by three goals to one and both of them in the FA Cup, that last victory coming against Littlehampton Town at the weekend.

Hayes and Yeading United and their visitors Raynes Park Vale have had rather different starts to the season. United have played only once in the League- a draw with Bedfont Sports- but have won three knockout matches; whilst Vale started the season with positive performances in League and Cup but have since suffered two hammerings, seven-nil against Hendon and, on Saturday, a rather embarrassing five-one Cup defeat to Southern Counties East Premier side Petts Wood and Holmesdale. 

Hayes took six points from their encounters with Vale last season, and four the season before.

Ascot United play host to Binfield, both sides looking for their first League victory of the campaign. The Yellas have had a fairly positive start to the campaign nonetheless, winning both of their Cup matches and drawing against Kingstonian with only Bedfont Sports taking three points from them; whilst the Moles have lost each of their three matches in League and Cup. 

The sides met three times last season, and each of those matches- in League and Velocity Cup- ended three-one, with the Moles winning the last two of them.
