Coyle and Longhurst swap seasides

Jamie Coyle and Matt Longhurst are the new management team at Margate

Margate have announced the arrival of a new management team, with Jamie Coyle taking on the role of Manager and Matt Longhurst coming in as his Assistant. Both men make the move from Pitching In Isthmian South East newboys Whitstable Town ‘subject to completion of the necessary formalities.’

The duo have just steered the Oysterboys to a runaway SCEFL Premier triumph, their former side taking the title by nineteen points as well as lifting the Kent Senior Trophy. That followed at FA Vase win last season- and it also followed the duo agreeing new two year contracts with the Oysterboys only a couple of weeks ago.

Prior to joining Whitstable for the start of the 24-25 campaign, Jamie was playing for Glebe- but you'll also remember him from his time in charge of Ramsgate. He was previously co-manager at Dartford and Player-Manager at Welling United, and Player/Assistant Manager at Margate under Jay Saunders. He started his career as a youth with Crystal Palace, and has also appeared for the likes of Dulwich Hamlet, Leatherhead, Sittingbourne, Maidstone United and Hythe Town.

Matt was previously in charge of Erith & Belvedere, Ramsgate and East Grinstead Town.
