Double congratulations for Bridges

Double congratulations for Bridges

Three Bridges win the title- and then their Women's side does the same!

Three Bridges had a double celebration at the weekend, securing two titles.

Bridges clinched our Pitching In Isthmian South East title in style, defeating third place AFC Whyteleafe on the road to ensure that their had an unassailable lead at the top of the table. Skipper Noel Leighton got them underway four minutes before half time, scoring his thirty first league goal of the season, which, by the way, puts him three goals clear in the race for our golden boot (second place being occupied by his team mate Reece Hallard, who is on twenty eight). Seven minutes into the second half Hayden Velvick made it two with his eleventh of the season, and at full time the celebrations could begin. Bridges have scored one hundred and nineteen goals so far- and if they win their two remaining games they'll have one hundred points, too.

They've also got a Sussex Senior Cup Final to look forward to next month- and a Trophy presentation after they take on second place Croydon Athletic on Saturday.

If that wasn't enough, their Women's side took on Hassocks on Sunday, and their one-nil win guaranteed the SCWGFL Premier title. Impressively they've secured top spot with four matches still to play, and have a one hundred percent record! You can take a look at the table here- it also includes Burgess Hill Town, Eastbourne Town and Broadbridge Heath as well as Bridges and the Robins.

Congratulations to both sides- and indeed to all at the club. You've had a magnificent season- and it could get better yet.
