Flower departs Bowers

Joe Flower steps down as Bowers and Pitsea Manager

Bowers and Pitsea have announced the departure of manager Joe Flower.

In a statement shared on social media, the club explained:

'We have reluctantly accepted the resignation of First Team Manager, Joe Flower. While we are incredibly sad to see Joe leave, we are massively grateful for all of his efforts last season and helping to build a team that created so many memories over the year.

Joe would like to place on record his sincere thanks to the fans for their support over the season and hopes to catch the Bowers faithful in some capacity soon. We are not currently advertising for a new first team manager as we explore all possible options.'

Joe was previously a part of Rob Small's successful management team and played a big part in the success of the club, promotions and that famous FA Cup run undoubtedly appearing on his cv- and has also spent time as Assistant boss at Great Wakering Rovers and Basildon United, as well as working as a development coach for Chelsea. He took over as joint manager alongside Luke Wilson in early 2025, following success at Runwell Sports, and ended the season as sole manager, coming within a whisker of leading his side to the Play Offs- indeed they faltered only on the last day of the campaign. Only the top three scored more goals- and had a better goal difference.
