Highlights: Aveley 2 Welling United 1

Aveley welcomed Welling United- and the cameras of Clubber TV- to Parkside on Monday in Pitching In Isthmian Premier, the Millers looking to get back to winning ways after their first defeat in months at the weekend. The visitors were in their best form of the campaign, and made the trip with four wins from six, so we suspected this one might be tight- and indeed it was.

After a goalless first half the hosts went ahead on fifty six minutes, Chris Harris in the right place to head home a corner for his tenth goal of the campaign. When Harris gets one, he tends to get another, too, and perhaps Welling should have been aware of that. Wings drew level ten minutes from time, former Miller Bradley Sach finishing from close range, and that looked to be that- however Harris decided otherwise. Another cross, another header, another goal- and three points confirmed. 

That completed a third Harris brace of the campaign- and he also has a hat trick to add to that. His goals tend to arrive in the pattern of London buses, but nobody at Parkside is complaining. 

Aveley are fourth, fourteen points behind leaders Folkestone Invicta with two games in hand, whilst Welling are five points from safety.
